Myron Hammes

Myron Hammes

Myron Hammes believes homelessness can be solved. He knows it is a big job. But he likes what HSC is doing in that arena. And it's not just HSC he helps. Myron is one of the "Angels on Call" for St. Vincent de Paul. When they called recently needing to house a young family for a month until they could get them into an apartment, he funded a month-long hotel stay for them.

After selling his business in 2021, Myron began investigating homelessness. Introduced to HSC by one of the many 'friends of Mike,' Myron liked HSC's plans to end homelessness – not just serve the homeless. Now on the board of directors for the organization, he recently sat in on a meeting to learn about a new effort of the organization to ensure the future through gift planning.

Shortly after that meeting, he shared with Director of Development Steve Davis, that he is naming HSC as a beneficiary of a life insurance policy. Widowed with adult children, Myron had carefully planned for a future where the full amount of his life insurance might be needed by his family. And like many, he now realizes that he can share the benefits of some of that planning with organizations like HSC that are making a difference

.

Naming HSC as a beneficiary of a life insurance policy is easy. A quick call to the insurance company or an online search for the beneficiary form allows the insured policy owner to make a change. And should circumstances arise that cause Myron's family to need that insurance, he can change the beneficiary form again quite easily.

Myron firmly believes, "We can solve homelessness." And HSC is leading that quest in Phoenix. His future gift of life insurance will serve HSC's efforts well.
